Your tweens and teens would love to pretend to be dangerous pirates of the high seas where they can hunt for buried treasure or cause a mutiny. Halloween 2010 isn’t the only time of the year they can dress in a sassy costume or when you can set up a treasure chest in the back yard. Check out the costumes below and prepare to be enchanted.
Pirate Girl Elite Collection Child Costume

This is one adorable yet stylish outfit that is fully finished. Your pirate lass will feel grown up in this lacey mid-length dress made of red crushed panne and white satin blouse with three-quarter pouf sleeves and a ruffled neckline.
The ruffled lace cuffs and lace-up black vinyl vest with gold braid trim and black and white pirate satin sash at the waistline with a matching bandana type headpiece are striking. The tulle petticoat will make your girl’s curls twirl with enjoyment when she twirls to show you how she looks.
Also included is a jeweled black velvet choker.
You’ll have to buy white tights separately and she can wear her own shoes for comfort. There are also accessories available like a treasure chest purse and pirate boot tops if she prefers them. This costume is so perfect for Halloween, school plays, birthday parties or just playing dress up at home, playing with your costume jewelry.
Caribbean Pirate Child Costume
Available in Child Sizes: X-Small (4), Small (6), Medium (8), Large (10).
This girl’s to teen’s Caribbean pirate costume is a really bright addition to any Halloween party. Whether she’s sailing the high sea or hunting for buried treasure, buccaneers can’t be stopped.
The outfit includes a black and hot pink net layered dress with a black corset and pink laces. The skull print overlay skirt and matching pink cinched sleeves weave lacy layers around her.
Also included are pink-edged, black arm warmers and the same pink laces as on the corset, along with a pink head scarf. The lasses who wear this costume will turn heads, especially if you buy a sword and a swashbuckler’s hat to wear over the head scarf. Boots are not included. Your kids will have the time of their lives dressed in these pirate costumes.
Men weren’t the only Buccaneer hunters on the high seas. One of the earliest female pirates recorded was Queen Tefta of Issa who was an Illyrian queen reigning from approximately 231 BCE to 228 BCE. More recent was Lai Choi San, meaning “Mountain of Wealth.” She was a very powerful Chinese pirate who commanded a fleet of 12 junks in the South China Sea during the 1920’s and 1930’s. Of course we’ve heard of the Somali pirates who haven taken over ships from many countries and held for ransom in our 21st century.
Your children, however, are going to be more familiar with the pirates they’ve seen in movies and on TV. Kids love the whole idea of pirates and buried treasure, sword fighting and making people walk the plank. There’s no need to deprive your girls, whether they be toddlers or teens, from the pleasure of playing a pirate for Halloween 2010 or beyond, or Mardi Gras – or even a birthday costume party at home. This is how memories are made.
